"The Park"
by Eric Conger
"The Park" by Eric Conger is a deeply personal new play exploring the resilience of a small American town facing life-altering events—themes that feel increasingly urgent today. The work began its development in March 2023 with a reading through Axial Theatre’s SAFEHOUSE program under the title Zombietown, directed by Nathan Flower.
It was later presented as The Park in a staged reading at Manhattan Theatre Club, directed by Cady McClain, followed by a Los Angeles reading at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute—a charitable event benefiting the Entertainment Community Fund—produced by Amanda Quinn Olivar, Katharine Lee McEwan, and Cady McClain, and directed by McClain.
The play is now in continued development with Broadway producer Larry Poindexter, with special thanks to ArtsWestchester and the Westchester County Government for their invaluable support.
