Meet The Cast !!

Dr. Jeff.JPG

Jeff Schlotman, Vanya
Jeff is appearing on Axial’s stage for the fourth time. Previously seen as Walter in Stiff Upper Lip  for March Madness, he was also Charlie Aiken in 2019’s  August Osage County. Other recent appearances include: the Stage Manager, Our Town; Froggy LeSeuer, The Foreigner; Colonel Gillweather, Something’s Afoot; Doctor Zubritsky, Fools; Producer Feldzieg, The Drowsy Chaperone; Nat Miller, Ah, Wilderness!; The Major General, The Pirates of Penzance; and Saunders, Lend Me A Tenor. He loves to don the mantle of “character” actor and “curmudgeon” and to that effect has been busy doing just that. Among his “rogues” are: Henry Higgins, My Fair Lady; Scrooge, A Christmas Carol; Captain Hook, Peter Pan; Juan Peron, Evita; Professor Callahan, Legally Blonde; Fagin, Oliver; Salieri, Amadeus; Oscar Madison, The Odd Couple; the King, The King & I; and Judge Danforth, The Crucible. When not onstage Jeff “bridges the gap” as Dr. Schlotman, White Plains dentist to the stars! He is the number one fan of daughter, Emily, and her goldendoodle, Bailey!

Gail Greenstein, Cassandra

Little did we know, when we had our first read for "Vanya……." in March 2020 for Axial’s spring 2020 production, how prophetic Cassandra’s first words in this play would prove:  “Beware the Ides of March...Beware the Ides of March.”  The world shut down that very week!  What a thrill to now be able to bring this production to you more than a year later! And thank you, Juliette Appleton, for the perfect Cassandra dress!  Miracles all! And thank you, Anne Hammond, for all your help and patient support in helping me learn my lines!!!!!!!!

Branden Youshock

|Branden Youshock, Spike
Branden is beyond excited to be making his stage debut and baring it all for you in the role of Spike.  Despite the hardships of the past year, he is grateful for the impetus it has provided for him to begin pursuing his long dormant desire to act. He is especially grateful to his acting teachers and directors Cat and Rachel for giving him the opportunity to be a part of this production. It has been an incredible experience.  A big thanks to the cast and crew for their patience and belief. And a special thanks to my sweet monkey for all the love and support. This is just the beginning. I love you.

Jenn Bedell, Nina
Jenn is thrilled to be playing Nina and make her post-pandemic return to the stage! She is a Pace University graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Some past roles include: Amalia Balash in She Loves Me, Rosie in Bye Bye Birdie, Grace Farrell in Annie, & Cinderella in Into the Woods. Most recently, she originated the role of Natalie in a new play: Waiting for the Double Lines. The role she is most proud of, however, is being mom to her 2 daughters, Nola & Sophia. A big thank you to this amazing cast & crew. To my family & friends - I love you and thank you for keeping me sane these past 18 months. JennBedellonStage.com

AnnaF.jpg

Anna Fawcett, Sonia

Anna studied drama in NYC many years ago. She has performed in several summer and winter monologue workshops, Glass Ceiling Breakers, Shining City with the Hudson Stage Company and Top Shelf’s production of Extremities at The Schoolhouse Theatre. She also appeared as Honey in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolf in a showcase while studying in the City. Anna also enjoys studying in Howard Meyer’s Master class, pre-COVID. Anna feels blessed to be in the company of this authentic, warm and talented group of actors. Break a leg everyone! Thanks to her boys, Jack and Chase for lending her their (adorable) feline ears while she learns her lines, to her dear David for all his love and support, and to her star, Taylor, for the love, courage and inspiration that fills Anna’s heart every day.
