Welcome to Season Nine of the
Axial Theatre Company

By Chuck Bradley

The ninth season of Axial Theatre Company is an exceptional one. The shows underway; Angel Beast  by Howard Meyer, and the Ten-Minute Play Festival are sure to be memorable theatrical experiences. I say this from what I have experienced since coming back to Axial. I recently returned to the Axial Theatre Company after completing my four year study at The Boston Conservatory. Through this perspective, I have learned that certain experiences can only be attained within the confines of a working company with a shared purpose. Things that are not teachable inside the walls of the institution of education. Such as the provocative nature of theatre, the creation of a new piece, and theatre's place in society.

There is, and always has been, an energy surrounding our company. An energy that is driven by the pursuit of a theatre that makes the invisible visible. Theatre that is immediate. A theatre that suspends our audience in a moment of revelation. When our individual lives are no longer individual. A moment when we share invisible aspects of being human. A moment captured by the theatre artist, then released in pure honesty with you, our audience. The work that we create is built from the very earth beneath our feet, not pulled from the shelf and dusted off to be presented in a more relevant way. Our work is born from the immediacy of the moment so that it can be nothing but relevant. But only you, our audience, can bring us to life. Without you, the moment of shared human experience, when the invisible becomes visible, is impossible.
Please, join us for our ninth season and share in the moment.
